Thanks for sharing! It reminds me about how far we must stretch beyond our borders to have a better understanding of ourselves. Barack Obama as a child had to be open to new possibilities & ventures, in order to be ready for the challenges he now face.
It's funny you posted this today. I finally watched the Library of Congress' ceremony celebrating Stevie Wonder a couple hours ago (DVR is a beautiful thing).
I was just so impressed and overwhelmed by it all...
Stevie in the White House...a black man who likes Stevie and wants to honor Stevie in the White House...a black woman who stands by his side and exemplifies what a family should be...a spirit of love overflowing from it all, in a country where we used to be considered second class citizens. God moves, man...
As I watched your vid on the school, I was reminded of the "amazing'ocity" of all this.
It's so funny. People always say that Barack winning opened doors for minorities, making them believe that they can do anything...but as I watched this video, I had to wonder, where did that spirit of inspiration come from in Barack? I can't imagine the faith it took to go out on a limb and say... "I'm gonna be the first black president." Granted, he's certainly standing on the shoulders of all those who came before, but in and of himself he's an amazing individual as well.
Great video Kirk, thanks for sharing. Glad you made it to Besuki school. Peace.
