Yaaaaaaay!
My birthday present from my manager Earl Cole! OK now I'm in the 21st century... Wait a minute... They don't even have them in STOCK! What happened to the good ol' days of LAYAWAY! At least you knew it was in stock... Well I guess I'll just enjoy my new high-tech gift card!
Speaking of birthdays, happy 11th BD to our godson Ian Braxton, son of the great Tom Braxton (tombraxton.com) and the lovely Sharon Braxton!

Whew... running...fast... almost...caught...up...
50 and FLY!!!
Now that just made my day!! And no I didn't think of it, it was written of me here in my guest book thank you! By a very kind person named Donna. And I feel soooooooo good and so blessed and so grateful to be 50 and ... well 50 and ANYTHING! That is to say, I'm grateful to be alive first. I was sorry to hear about former White House correspondent Tony Snow, gone at 53!
This is serious business. 50 is a blessing. 50 and healthy, still growing spiritually and musically and in my love for Ruby. Still feeling (hopefully I'm right about this one) that my best is yet ahead of me.
I'm grateful for the outpouring of love and respect on my birthday. I don't (I really don't) have any illusions. I know that I've got a long way to go in the area of love for people, of humility...etc. But I'm grateful for the profound demonstration of love from you -- my family and friends. Let's roll!!!
Bible In Your Ear Update
Dear Bible In Your Ear Listener,
I'm truly honored that you have been tracking with me on our daily bible-reading. My wife Ruby even tracks with me -- I'm honored! God's word is rich.
However I must offer humble apologies for the delay in posting lessons since July 4th. I'm experiencing technical difficulties at this time. In the words of "the Church Lady" from SNL... "Could it be... Satan!?" But I promise to catch up on the lessons that are missing once I'm back on the air. In the meantime, listed below are the lesson plans for this past week and next week. God "watches over His word to perform it!"

Independence (but still dependent)!
Happy 4th of July my fellow Americans! I'm so grateful to be at a point in my walk where I begin to appreciate the tension between being independent from sovereign rule, but dependent on Sovereign (Holy, Righteous, Merciful, Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Faithful, Loving, Strong) Rule.
Why I love my mouthpiece...
Vandoren V16... the mouthpiece that liberates you be you.
"Realizing that many players just like to "talk shop" and love trying out the "next new thing," I'm glad I've found the mouthpiece that brings my sound up to ground zero... nothing in the way. Now I can concentrate on what really counts... developing a lovely, powerful, sensitive sound."
