50 and FLY!!!
Now that just made my day!! And no I didn't think of it, it was written of me here in my guest book thank you! By a very kind person named Donna. And I feel soooooooo good and so blessed and so grateful to be 50 and ... well 50 and ANYTHING! That is to say, I'm grateful to be alive first. I was sorry to hear about former White House correspondent Tony Snow, gone at 53!
This is serious business. 50 is a blessing. 50 and healthy, still growing spiritually and musically and in my love for Ruby. Still feeling (hopefully I'm right about this one) that my best is yet ahead of me.
I'm grateful for the outpouring of love and respect on my birthday. I don't (I really don't) have any illusions. I know that I've got a long way to go in the area of love for people, of humility...etc. But I'm grateful for the profound demonstration of love from you -- my family and friends. Let's roll!!!

Happy birthday, man!!
Yeah, only God is Good, but if there is a category for being good with a small 'g', you rank high up the list! The evidence is that being as well-known and gifted, you still know your weaker characteristics. You consistently encourage us lesser gifted folk, and you make us all seem taller by lifting us up over your own head.
As Christians, we are to be ever-aware of the fact that all our "good" stuff comes from God. A lot of us (me too, sometimes) think that it is all about Us. Really, only the wrong notes are ours.
Let's hope that at 50, you are not even halfway through the course. God Bless!
