Understanding Rocks!

Not to be too political here, but something just occurred to me:
Ignorance is not relegated to the uneducated. In other words, even the educated need to go out of our way to understand each other. Ignorance isn't a crime, it's just the opposite of understanding.

Music City Walk of Fame (& Gratitude!)

Garthnittygritty

This was a moment in my life when I truly treasured the diversity of contributions made to the music world in a place called Tennessee! I was inducted into the Music City Walk of Fame alongside Steven Curtis Chapman, Steve Wariner, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Hank Williams, Sr., and other incredible folks not pictured here. Garth Brooks (to the left of me) was just hangin! Actually he introduced Steve Wariner.

I dedicate the Star in the WOF that bears my name to the awesome jazz musicians, past and present, who have made Tennessee proud; folks like Herman Green, Rod McGaha, Hank Crawford, Phineas Newborn, Lori Mechem and Roger Spencer (and many more whose names will certainly be added in future years).

I'm humbled and grateful. Now, to the wood shed!

I'm in love again!

It happens everytime! Every "Printemps" every "Primavera" every Spring... When I hear those little improvisations, those sweet little songs that the birds sing, reminding us once again that no matter how Winter may have affected our "hope" GOD IS INDEED FAITHFUL(!)... I can't help but give Him glory. The breeze, the sunshine... It's Spring and I'm in love with Jesus all over again!

Perhaps the Greatest Country Ever

Well, I've have purposely been chillin on posting here for a few weeks because I wanted to be sure the Obama speech stayed posted - not so much because of Barack as the fact that, thanks to him, we are finally in a better place to "hear" each other. So now that many folks have seen that speech, here's to the greatest group of extranjeros & children of extranjeros in the whole world... The U. S. Of A!!!! God bless America.
