YES WE CAN!
Anybody got any advice for voters as this race heats up? I know that I for one am anxious to see the health-care issue resolved. Too many people falling thru the cracks.

Great insight Connie. In the words of Marvin Gaye... "Make you wanna holla and throw up BOTH ya hands!" I agree that we should keep the vision in front of us as something that is NOT BY ANY MEANS A DONE DEAL... and that we should keep "hope alive." Sorry, I know it's cliché, but it happens to be true. Hope is the foundation (a firm one) upon which we can work hard and build something that actually works -- not just for the BMW crowd, as you so aptly cited -- but for er'body!
In the meantime I want to be a part of making sure people are REGISTERED. Do you know off-hand what the deadline is for registration before the November election?

my advice is to make sure that you are REGISTERED TO VOTE!! For the last presidential election people were being turned away because they had not voted for quite some time and they just assumed they could show up and vote! Don't let this one pass you by. Time is running out. The other thing is that we need to remember it's not just a democratic race, we hear so much about the democrats that people seem to forget about the republicans.

Sadly, too many special interests are involved, and
our government is the 500 pound gorilla in the corner. Money talks and the politicians listen. I work in healthcare and am disgusted by what I see.
I work with MRDD, Autistic, and brilliant people that are making poverty wages while management, & paper pushers drive BMW's. It may sadly take a revolution to correct the crises but our "representatives" spend time on things like the mortgage crisis that is affecting the big money players that want to reap from the rape of poor borrowers that shouldn't have been been given the excessive credit in the first place.

Yes, I agree..health care should be Universal Health care. My friends visited Europe last year, and one was injured. She was taken care completely and she paid a very minimal fee for the medical care. Too many retirees are working another job after retirement..just to maintain healthcare. So yes, Universal Healthcare just like in Europe should be a reality.
